With the power to fill large rooms with THX®-certified sound, this cutting-edge receiver is ready to integrate and distribute entertainment throughout your home. More than a home cinema processor, the TX-NR717 allows you to access music on PC, stream from MP3tunes, explore online radio, or connect your iPod/iPhone to one of two USB ports. You can distribute any of these various stereo sources to other rooms for house-wide entertainment. With a total of 10 HDMI® connections, this receiver converges HD content from all your components—even your smart phone media via a frontside MHL/HDMI—and provides easy input selection with InstaPrevue™ technology. HDMI also enables intuitive GUI with overlaid Quick Set-Up menu. Visually managing settings and playback—even across multiple zones—is easy with the Onkyo Remote App for iPhone and Android phones. Video upscaling to 4K, Audyssey DSX® seven-channel sound expansion, and Audyssey 2EQ room correction are all included. Sound quality is quite simply the best in class, with powerful WRAT amplifier, three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry, and discrete output stage components delivering an otherworldly entertainment experience.

Mobile High-Definition Link for Smart Phone Movies and Photos on HDTV

The TX-NR717’s front-panel HDMI port is designed for the connection of compatible smart phones and other portable electronic devices using the new MHL standard. MHL allows you to display full 1080p video and still images on your HDTV with up to 7.1 channels of surround sound. Use the receiver’s remote to control playback from your phone as it receives a handy recharge.

Wireless Cloud Streaming, Internet Radio, and PC-Based Music

Connecting to your home network using a standard LAN cable, the TX-NR717 makes streaming audio and internet radio easy. You can also play formats including MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, FLAC, and WMA Lossless stored on your PC through your Onkyo home cinema system. The receiver offers easy access to internet radio channels from Last.fm and vTuner, plus cloud-based music streaming from AUPEO!, Simfy, and MP3tunes*. Wireless networking is enabled with an optional UWF-1 Wireless LAN Adapter.
