Yamaha RX-V673 is one of the latest 7.2ch Network AV Receivers providing expansive and realistic CINEMA DSP 3D surround sound and flexible speaker assignment.
A useful Zone 2 output provides the ability to distribute sound to an altenative room/location.
This Receiver features the latest technologies combined with the usual Yamaha originality and performance.
The 3D feature means the receiver can handle 3D signal data. The Audio Return Channel function enables data to be sent and received via the same HDMI cable, so you can hear the sound from the TV via a single HDMI cable, with no need for an extra optical cable.
YPAO Reflected Sound Control (R.S.C.), Dialogue Lift and Dialogue Level Adjustment for perfectly clear dialogue and vocals.YPAO-R.S.C. analyses room acoustics and measures various speaker characteristics, then calibrates audio parameters to achieve optimum sound. It employs Reflected Sound Control to correct early reflections for studio-quality sound. It also provides DSP Effect Normalization, which varies the CINEMA DSP parameters according to the reflected sounds.
RXV-673 provides a variety of network functions that enable you to access more sources and also enhance operation. You can connect the receiver to a PC to enjoy Internet Radio and operate your system via Web Browser Control. The AV Controller app (from iTunes App Storeor Android Market) lets you control various functions from your iPod, iPhone, iPad or Android phones.
4K Pass-Through and full HD 1080p video upscaling from analogue and HDMI input for next-generation high resolution images. Supports Deep Colour (30/36 bit), x.v.Colour, 24 Hz Refresh Rate and Auto Lip-Sync compensation
High quality video processing with precise deinterlacing. In ordinary deinterlacing, pixels in areas of movement are interpolated by upper and lower ranges. This causes jaggies in diagonal lines. Edge adaptive deinterlacing detects the direction of the line and interpolates the pixels optimally.

RXV-673 supports AirPlay, which means it can accept wireless music streaming from iPod touch, iPhone or iPad, as well as from iTunes on Macs or PCs. This makes it easy to enjoy music from your mobile devices or computer on your home theatre system. You can use view metadata such as song title, artist name as well as album art* via AV receiver's on-screen display.
A USB port on the front panel allows convenient connection of an iPod/iPhone/iPad, which also charges when connected. Because the digital signal from the iPod/iPhone/iPad is transmitted directly to the AV receiver, there is no signal loss or interference, so you enjoy the best possible sound quality. In addition, you can use the receiver’s remote control unit to operate the iPod/iPhone/iPad music playback functions.
Intelligent Amp Assign automatically assigns amplifier channels to certain speakers, depending on what functions are selected. For example, in a 7.1-channel system, when Zone 2 is off, all 7.1 channels will be used in the Main Zone. However, when Zone 2 is on, power to the two Surround Back channels will be directed to the two speakers in Zone 2, and the Main Zone will receive 5.1 channels of power. Similarly, when CINEMA DSP 3D is on, the two Front Presence speakers will be powered and not the two Surround Back speakers. When CINEMA DSP 3D is off, this situation is reversed. Thanks to Intelligent Amp Assign, there’s no need to switch the speaker cables on the rear of the receiver - one more way.
Input Selection in HDMI Standby Through Mode. When the AV receiver is in HDMI Standby Through mode, the input source (Blu-ray Disc player, game console, etc.) for viewing on the monitor can be changed via the remote control. There’s no need to turn on the AV receiver in order to switch sources.

The 2000i Cinema Package is a new range that delivers both unrivalled sonic performance and breathtaking value for money. We wanted the new 2000i Series to be the very best affordable loudspeakers ever produced. Comprising of 4 x 2000i bookshelf speakers for the front left and right as well as the rear channels, 1 x 2000Ci Centre Channel Speaker and 1 x 2070Si Subwoofer for 5.1 Surround Sound that allows you to fully enjoy and appreciate a full cinema surround sound experience in your own home.
Every part of the new speakers is bespoke, optimised specifically for each new model. The tweeter, bass/midrange drivers, magnets, cone mass, cone rigidity, cone material, crossovers, terminal panel and fully braced cabinets are all designed with the sole purpose of creating the very best performing, lowest distortion, affordable loudspeakers available.

Each model boasts the same excellent, low distortion, ferro-fluid cooled, tweeter. To avoid cabinet resonances, the tweeter is isolated from the front baffle and, to further reduce distortion, its advanced 25mm micro polyester weave dome is ventilated both on the surround and on the dome itself. This reduces distortion by helping the tweeter maintain mechanical integrity by restricting the range of temperatures it endures.
The cone material of the new bass/midrange drivers is a paper/Mica mixture which was found, after extensive testing, to be the optimum material. Its near perfect balance of stiffness and damping delivers ultra low distortion in parallel with an outstanding transient response and astonishing dynamics.
'Finite Element Analysis' was employed to create cones with an exceptionally smooth frequency roll off. This reduces the necessity for compensating components in the crossover circuitry and the inevitable loss of detail. Naturally, every model benefits from an acoustic fourth order Linkwitz/Riley crossover, to eliminate any phase variations at the crossover frequency. To further optimise performance, the advanced design of each drive unit's magnet incorporates aluminium compensation rings, reducing distortion through a reduction of inductance modulation.
Laser spectrometry has been used to identify and then minimise cabinet resonances by the careful use of multi-thickness panels, internal bracing and damping materials. The particularly sweet high frequency response, obvious in all models, was particularly improved by the introduction of double layered top panels to every cabinet. To reduce colouration, all 2000i Series cabinets are rear ported. 'Port bungs' are provided, to optimise bass response when the speakers are positioned very close to a wall.

The appearance of the new Q2000i Series makes a striking design statement. All the cabinet dimensions have changed, so each speaker appears to present a slimmer and deeper profile. As well as traditional 'Graphite Black' and 'Walnut' finishes, at a small extra cost, the new 2000i models are available in beautiful 'Piano Gloss Black' and 'Piano Gloss White' finishes.
To further enhance visual impact, all speaker cable terminals are mounted on a recessed plate on the bottom of each speaker (excluding the 2070 Subwoofer). Not only does this look far better, because there are no speaker cables protruding from the rear of the cabinet, but it also enables the speaker to be placed very close to a rear wall, without the speaker terminals or cable getting in the way.

Unusually at its price level, the Model 2070 subwoofer is a completely DSP (Digital Signal Processing) driven system with highly efficient class D amplification. However this has meant we have been able to achieve an advanced level of functionality, as well as optimising the sonic performance, by undertaking all filtering and limiting completely in the digital domain. An example is the 'Speaker Type' function switch, which alters the characteristic of the subwoofer's frequency response at the crossover point. This allows the subwoofer to be optimised for use with either 'ported' speakers, like the rest of the Q Acoustics range, or infinite baffle models.
The subwoofer's twin 170mm bespoke drive units are driven by two matched mono power amplifiers, producing a combined 140 watts. However the switched mode power supply consumes a mere 2 watts when in 'Standby' mode.
