When German hi-fi magazine, STEREO, reviewed the Dali Zensor 7 speakers, they awarded them a full five out of five stars. When it comes to providing a full range sound at an affordable price, it's hard to see how they could fail.
One of the main reasons for buying a larger floorstanding speaker is sheer bass power and dynamic response. The Zensor 7's don't disappoint. With a cabinet almost one metre tall and twin 7" bass cones, the Zensor 7 was always going to be a powerful contender. When compared to the smaller Zensor 5, the 7 goes lower, has greater depth and can sustain deep bass notes for longer. It also has an effortless dynamic reach that makes it ideal for all types of music from large scale orchestral to pulsating Dance music.
Yet what sets the Zensor 7 apart from other large speakers at its price is the quality of sound. The twin bass cones feature Dali's wood fibre construction that's usually only used in their more expensive designs. This lightweight yet rigid material helps give the Zensor 7 speakers a refined and detailed, as well as powerful sound. Partnering these impressive bass units is a similarly high performing treble unit. Soft dome construction gives upper notes a smooth yet precise sound. When taken as a whole the Zensor Seven is simply one of the most realistic sounding floorstanders at its price point - with the refinement to match the effortless power.
As you'd expect from this high quality Danish brand, the Zensor 7's are also exceptionally well made. The solid cabinet has an attractive glossy front baffle, with recessed drive units for a smoother style. Contrasting with the gloss black cabinet are the aluminium supports which give the design a stylish edge whilst also performing a practical function of support.
For a bigger sound in medium to large sized rooms, the Dali Zensor 7 is a force to be reckoned with.
