It’s amazing but true. Some people (or more likely their partners) just don’t want powerful big boxes in their living room. So Marantz created a slim-line AV Receiver. But don’t let appearances deceive you, this super-slim model packs the same punch as its bigger brothers, delivering ear-cracking seven channel surround sound from its 7x 50W rms output. It also boasts the same networking facilities for audio streaming, Internet radio, AirPlay from your iPhone, iPad or iPod, as well as incorporating an iPod-digital-compatible USB input and an M-DAX2 to make the very most of sound quality from compressed audio. On the video side, the six HDMI inputs, with one located on the front, all support 3D video and ARC (Audio Return Channel) from ARC-compatible TV sets, while all analogue video signals are converted to HDMI level including I/P conversion and scaling up to 1080p. In addition, set-up is easy - with the help of the advanced GUI, Setup Assistant, Audyssey MultEQ and Microphone – so there is no need to study the manual, just follow the on-screen instructions. It all adds up to easy-to-use slim-line elegance with a powerful punch. What more could you ask for?
